In conversation with Actor Karan Thakur in Reference to his Superhit Webseries Avrodh 2 on Sony Liv.

First of all congratulations on your first Big Budget Project Avrodh 2 on Sony Liv and the massive appreciation it has received from Audience globally.

Karan Thakur – Thanks a ton. It’s good to see when your hard work gives fruitful results.

Q.) So, how did AVRODH 2 happen?

A.) Well, I received a call from Casting Director Kavish Sinha’s office for some other character, but after my audition Kavish’s assistant Jay gave me script of Captain Farooq and, thankfully I cracked the audition.

Q.) Wow, sounds interesting. So how did you prepare for this character?

A.) As Captain Farooq is an Army man, I had to attain a specific body language and way of speaking for this character which looks attentive and thoughtful at the same time.

Q.) How was your experience sharing screen space with senior actors like Sanjay Suri & Rajesh Khattar?

A.) Surprisingly, both of them were super friendly and made me feel very comfortable during our rehearsals and takes. It’s delightful to learn so much from senior actors especially when you are working on same project.

Q.) How about working with director Raj Acharya?

A.) Raj Sir is a gem of a person and a perfectionist in his work. He is crystal clear about his shot taking and what he wants from his actors. I remember I was not feeling well on the first day of shoot because of jet lag and shooting at extremely high altitude in Kashmir, but Raj Sir made sure I was feeling better before the take and constantly asked me about my health every now and then.

Q.) Any memorable experience you would like to share with the readers?

A) Yes, so we had a scene where I had to eat a lot of non-veg food such as, Mutton curry and biryani, and It was the first day of Navratri when I don’t consume non-veg food but, as we say ”work is worship”. I kept aside my religious beliefs at that point of time and focused only on my craft and character.

Q.) Most of your scenes were shot in Kashmir. Was it your first visit there?

A.) Yes. Kashmir is rightfully said heaven on earth. Shooting there was a dream come true, as not only the weather and hills but even people are very humble and affectionate by nature.

Q ) So, what’s next?

A.) I have finished another webseries in a Primary character and it is in its post-production phase. Can’t reveal much about it as if now.
