Bhubaneswar: India’s premium roofing segment is set to receive a new push with Dongyue India announcing plans for an Experience Centre-cum-Demonstration House dedicated to stone coated metal roofing solutions.
The initiative is being led by Dr. Nandiki Gangadhar Reddy, Founder and CEO of Dongyue India, as part of the company’s cooperation with Dongyue Machinery Group of China for expanding stone coated roof tiles in India.
The proposed experience centre will allow customers, architects, builders and roofing professionals to physically examine different stone coated roofing designs and understand their applications before making purchasing decisions.
A particularly important component of the centre will be technical training for fabrication and installation teams.
Mr. Edward Gong, Vice President of Dongyue Machinery Group, said the company’s approach is to support the Indian market not only with products but also with knowledge and technical assistance.
Under the proposed programme, short-term training will be offered to clients’ fabrication teams on appropriate installation techniques, fixing methods and application of stone coated roofing systems in different roof configurations and architectural designs.
This service-oriented approach is expected to help address one of the key requirements of premium roofing products: correct installation.
Stone coated metal roofing is increasingly being considered for villas, premium homes, resorts, commercial buildings and modern architectural projects because it can combine the appearance of conventional roof tiles with the structural advantages of formed metal roofing.
The roofing system uses a Galvalume steel base sheet, which is profiled to provide rigidity and structural strength. A stone-coated surface gives the roofing system its characteristic tile-like appearance while providing additional functional properties.
Dr. Reddy said Indian climatic conditions make thermal performance an important consideration for roofing.
“Indian summers can be extremely demanding on buildings. Roofing plays an important role in the thermal comfort of a building, and premium roofing systems must therefore be evaluated not only for appearance but also for heat performance, durability and overall value,” he said.
Dongyue India intends to develop the Experience Centre as a platform where customers can compare designs, understand installation methods and receive technical guidance.
The initiative reflects Dr. Reddy’s vision of developing the stone coated roofing market in India through product education, professional installation and direct customer support.
As premium residential construction continues to grow, the combination of design, durability, heat management and long-term value is expected to become increasingly important in roofing decisions.
