Royal Canin, PFCI & SBC join hands to help Needy Animals

“Water is life – don’t waste it”

Known as the elixir of life, water should be saved to save life on the earth. Even a small cup of water can quench their thirst, People For Cattle in India (PFCI), an Animal Welfare NGO that works to promote the welfare of animals & prevent cruelty against them organises The Water Bowl Challenge to help Animals quench their thirst every summer.

Royal Canin has joined hands with PFCI to distribute additional bowls in Bengaluru partnering with South Bengaluru Cares, an NGO based in Bengaluru. This is the 3rd time PFCI is extending the Water Bowl Challenge to Bengaluru. in 2022, PFCI distributed 250 Water Bowls.

PFCI distribute Free Water Bowls that can be placed in communities for Birds & Animals to drink water. The Animals suffer severe dehydration & several diseases are caused due to lack of clean water. Provision of these water bowls has given them easy access to clean water & ensured they are hydrated & healthy. It has been an encouraging and successful initiative since 2014.

This year the Water Bowl Challenge Bengaluru brand ambassador, Ms. Aindrita Ray has inspired people to put out a bowl of water for the neighbourhood animals & birds by sharing the same in their social media. Ms. Ray took part in the Water Bowl Challenge event in Jeeva Pet Hospital, Bengaluru.

Since the year 2014, PFCI hasbeen distributing bowls. In 2022, as many as 2000 bowls have been distributed. This year, the team intends to distribute 4000 bowls. The Water bowl challenge has witnessed celebrities, industrialist & bureaucrats participating and spreading awareness over the years.

Mr. Govind Suryawanshi, Corporate Affairs Director of Royal Canin India said, “At Royal Canin, we believe that pets make our world better, and our purpose is to Make a Better World for Pets. We are living our purpose through focussed Animal Welfare Initiatives which are part of our Responsibility towards PET and commitment to Society. Water Bowl Challenge is one of its kind initiatives where we bring everyone together to quench the thirst of many community pets who doesn’t have access to fresh water.” The aim of the challenge is to encourage residents to keep water bowls outside their houses, gardens, public places, and streets for community pets. We will continue our purposeful efforts on key pet welfare issues and support to drive momentum with multiple Animal Welfare Organizations partners across identified cities of India to continue this drive throughout the summer.”

Mr. Arun Prasanna, Founder, PFCI said, “Every year we distribute at least 500 water bowls. We intend to distribute 1,000 bowls this year in Bengaluru, People can pick them up from Jeeva Pet Hospital”. He further adds, “Many people place it in front of their homes or on common places on the street. We advise them to clean it regularly and replenish it with fresh water so it doesn’t become a health hazard.”
