In a world where it seems that technology has us under control, where time is at a premium, and where judging has permeated every aspect of life. Both adults and children have fallen victim to this habit. Have we ever wondered what it’s like for our tiny ones to live at supersonic speed? Can we stop and remind children that there is no right or wrong when it comes to playing? For every child, the formative years are crucial, and as working parents, we have a nanny in the form of mobile phones.
Being the mother of a homeschooler, I have come to understand how important it is for parents to be involved in their children’s education. Having managed a toy store for over 10 years, I can confidently conclude – the less a toy does, the more a child does. This philosophy gave birth to TROY Blocks.
A toy that helps parents and children bond. A toy that helps a child know that there is nothing known as right or wrong when it comes to play.
TROY BLOCKS was launched in 2019 and since then more than 25000 kids have played with it. Playing with blocks helps children develop their social and emotional skills. They learn to work together to build structures and can also learn to share and take turns. Additionally, block play encourages children to use their imagination and creativity, as they can build and create whatever they can think of.
I am Farah Ahmad, and I am Part of the 10000 Women Entrepreneur Program by Goldman Sachs at IIM Bangalore. I curate toys and I believe wooden building blocks are integral for a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development.
Wood as a material is sustainable and blocks are an excellent source of expression!
